A little about Hannah (left) & Willa (right):

Hannah Hyun White (she/her) is a Korean American transracial adoptee Master’s student at the University of Arizona and the Graduate Assistant for Student Access and Accommodations and the Disability Cultural Center. She is also a former NUFP and a Regional Ambassador for the Asian Pacific American Network through ACPA. With an emphasis on narratives and counternarratives, Hannah’s current research focuses on the experiences of Asian American transracial adoptee students and their journeys into agency, empowerment, and resiliency through engagement in racial justice activism.  Prior to her Master’s studies, Hannah received her B.S. in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and B.A. in Linguistics from the University of Arizona.

Willa Kurland (she/her) is a graduate student in the Student Development Administration program at Seattle University. She is a Gates Millennium Scholar, NUFP alumni, and Chinese American transracial adoptee who found her way to student affairs as an undergraduate at UC Davis. At UC Davis, Willa worked to increase visibility of transracial adoptees on campus by incorporating adoptee narratives into existing campus programming. She currently works in the TRiO Educational Opportunity Center at South Seattle College. When she is not busy with school or work related activities she can be found outdoors, traveling, listening to podcasts, and drinking copious amounts of tea and coffee.
